Cultural Awareness at its best this week, with another very busy week at the Open Centre.
On Monday, St George’s Catholic Primary School prepared for their week long range of activities focusing on Sikhism.
Dronfield Junior School visited the Hindu Temple with 89 children, where they also learned about Asian culture.

Newton’s Walk PRU also visited on Monday afternoon with 10 children, who went to the Baptist Church.
Eckington School took part in an Islamic Assembly on Tuesday, whilst St George’s Catholic Primary School brought a 100 children to the Gurdwara.
Dove Bank Primary School also visited the Mosque, Hindu Temple, Church and took part in an Asian food tasting workshop afterwards.
On Wednesday morning, Chasetown visited the Hindu Temple with 34 students. Anson Primary School also went to visit the Hindu Temple, Mosque and Sikh Gurdwara with 50 children in KS2.

Year 5 and Year 6 children at St George’s took part in three Asian cookery workshops followed by their Reception children taking part in Asian food tasting workshops.
Thursday saw a visit from Hasland Junior School who brought 86 children to visit the Mosque, Hindu Temple and Sikh Gurdwara.
Meanwhile St George’s Year 2 children took part in two marriage workshops.
Finally a very busy end to the week on Friday with; Chadsmead Primary Academy visiting the Sikh Gurdwara along with two marriage workshops.

All Saint’s Catholic Academy in Nottingham took part in a Judaism talk followed by a Passover workshop with 25 of their students.
