Well we have had a fantastic start to 2016 with nearly 700 visitors using our faith trails alone and February looks to be even busier!
This week we started off with the Mobile Exhibition being displayed in Duffield Meadows Primary School and the second Exhibition being displayed at Crich Junior School for their final week.
We also started off with children from Temple Normanton Primary School visiting all the places of worship, whilst Weston on Trent Primary School visited the Mosque and took part in our Islamic Badge Making Workshop.
Cherry Tree Primary School brought over 80 children in Year 2 to visit the Sikh Gurdwara.
Meanwhile Scargill Primary School had faith talks on Judaism.
Teacher at Scargill Primary – Lucy Hanson Commented
“The staff member was well prepared with a powerpoint presentation and Jewish articles to show the children to give them some background knowledge about Judaism and also information about the Synagogue and its importance to Jews. It was pitched at the right level for the age/year group of the children and they listened well. The staff member checked their understanding by asking them to answer questions, which they were enthusiastic to answer, and they asked some thoughtful questions of their own.”
Midweek Christchurch Primary School visited the Hindu Temple and Sikh Gurdwara. They then had a faith talk all about the Mosque. New Whittington Community Primary had a Judaism talk with their infant children.
Finally we finished the week with a visit from 24 children from Brailsford Primary School who also visited the Hindu Temple, Mosque and Sikh Gurdwara.
Lets see what February 2016 brings…
