A quieter week this week as everyone is getting ready for the holidays but despite this we have still had over 300 visitors using our ‘Faith Trails’ to the Open Centre in December; also including seven different workshops and four assemblies.
Derby College students have been working with us as part of their ‘Faith Week’ and over 50 students visited the different places of worship including the Mosque, Hindu Temple and Sikh Gurdwara. For their second day, over 100 students benefitted from our interactive faith workshops at the St James Centre, where they had the opportunity to investigate different faith artefacts, listen to detailed talks on different faiths and ask questions regarding current issues.
Redhill Primary School also visited the Sikh Gurdwara and the Hindu Temple to help them experience the different faiths at this time of the year.
Looking ahead to January, it looks like it will be our busiest one in the last five years with over 800 visitors expected at the centre.
